Waivers and Medical History Due

Each year we must renew our Troop health and waiver forms. We use BSA “Annual BSA Health and Medical Record”. WE MUST HAVE PART A AND PART B COMPLETED!  The form is available online at www.MidIowaCouncilBsa.org. Select “Forms” and look for Annual Health and Medical Record. We are interested only in parts A and B. Do not fill out or return any of the rest of the form. You must print out the form and sign the bottom of Part B with your natural signature. We need both your child’s signature and your signature. We do not accept digital signatures at this time. (Part C will be used at a later time for camp physicals.) Please help us by filling out and signing the form and returning it promptly to Mr. Hauser.

IMPORTANT BSA AND TROOP 202 YOUTH
PROTECTION TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Boy Scouts of America now REQUIRES that every registered leader have CURRENT (within the last two years) youth protection training. Leaders without current training will not be re-registered in January. New adult leader applications will not be processed without proof that the course has been taken.

The course can be taken on-line in about 20 minutes. Go to www.bsa-ia.org and click on training. Click the "online" link and you will be taken to the Boy Scouts of America's "MyScouting" web page. Sign-in and follow directions for Youth Protection Training. If you are a registered leader, have your member ID handy. If you cannot find your membership card, contact Mr. Hauser to get your member ID number. If you are not registered with BSA, you may still take the course and print out the certificate of completion.

Also be aware that the Troop Committee of Troop 202 has established that any adult who goes on a campout (registered or not) must have completed youth protection training.

Youth Protection Training Reminder- After you have completed your youth protection training, please let Mr. Diehn know through email or phone call. Mr. Diehn will be maintaining the youth protection training records for the troop. He will also need a copy of completion certificate.

Volunteer Opportunities

Merit Badge Counselors Needed-Troop 202 has been able to meet almost all scouts needs with regards to Merit Badge counselors within our Troop. It has been several years since the list of available counselors has been updated and I know there are several new members and parents involved that haven't had a chance to share their interests and talents. Please look over the list of Merit Badges that the scouts have available to them and see if any of them match your occupations, hobbies, or interests. You can find a complete list at www.meritbadge.com. If you are unsure whether you could help with the particular requirements, they can be found at the same website as well as worksheets for the scouts, etc. Each scout arranges individually with the counselor at times that they are available and would usually happen only a couple of times or less in any one year. The greatest needs are always the Eagle required that aren't covered at Mitigwa so please look closely at those if you would. Thanks in advance to everyone who can help out. Please respond with your interests or any questions to Dr. Patten. Jimgyn0001@aol.com

Remove any garbage
Vacuum or sweep it out
Roll it up
Remember poles and stakes
Do not use a power sprayer on tent
